Driving Lessons in Egham
Hamilton School of Motoring have been offering driving lessons in Egham, Surrey, for over 15 years. We small team of experienced driving instructors have helped literally hundreds of students pass their driving test.
Each of our instructors is highly qualified, trained and experienced, and registered with the DSA (Driving Standards Agency).
From your very first driving test you we will make you feel at ease. On their first lesson most students feel nervous but we aim to make you feel relaxed and get on with the lesson as quickly as possible. For your first driving lesson we will usually go to a cul-de-sac or other quiet road so that you can familiarise yourself with the controls of the car. Although basic, this is an essential part of your first driving lesson and will help you feel at ease. We will go over the gear layout (for manual lessons), where the wipers controls are and how to operate the car’s lights.
With each lesson you will progress and your driving instructor will keep challenging you and help you learn new techniques. Our aim is to get you to a level where you are able to take and pass your driving test as soon as possible. To do this, your driving instructor will use a list of techniques and skills that you need to know and perform perfectly should you need to demonstrate these skills in your actual driving test.
As you progress, your instructor will give you an indication of when to book your theory / hazard perception and practical driving tests. Waiting times vary throughout the year, depending on the number of people booking or retaking their tests but your instructor will have a rough idea of the waiting times.
In the build up to your tests we highly recommend studying the Highway Code during your own time. Your instructor can test you on some elements during your lessons and they will be able to recommend different learning materials such as books, web sites and apps.
