Driving Lessons

For your first driving lessons, we usually take you to a quiet road where you are able to focus on the basics such as starting the car, steering and moving through the gears; without having to worry about other road users. Obviously if you are taking automatic driving lessons, you do not need to worry about the gears but for manual car drivers, this is often a big area of concern for new drivers. Gears are surprisingly easy to master, despite what most people think.

We ensure that you have plenty of practise moving up and down the gears, steering around corners and all of the other basic moves before taking you out on to busier roads.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to pass my test?

This all depends on how much driving experience you have, how much practice you have outside of lessons and how frequently you have driving lessons. Usually people are ready to take their test between 30-40 lessons but your instructor can keep you updated on your progress.

When do I book my driving test?

Your instructor will be able to give you some guidance on this as well as talking you through exactly what you will need to do to book the test and what you will need to do during your driving test.

What car to I take my test in?

Usually you will book your test and your instructor will pick you up beforehand, allowing you to practice before the test. You will then arrive at the test centre and take the test in the same car that you use for your lessons.

Glad to have passed my driving test at the first attempt. Thanks to Mahadeva, who helped me develop the skills required in a phased manner. He provided me with a thorough understanding of the expected standards and the ways to achieve it. He is committed to the lessons scheduled and is always a few minutes early to the lessons. It was an enjoyable experience learning the nuances from him. I started off as a hesitant driver and gained confidence by repeatedly doing the maneuvers and going through the routes. I was always very nervous about starting driving but Dean did so much for my confidence and helped me to the point of actually enjoying driving which I never thought I could get to.
