Driving Lessons in Sunbury

Get on the road to passing your driving test with driving lessons in Sunbury from Hamilton School of Motoring.

We have been teaching learner drivers how to get behind the wheel for over 15 years and our dedicated team are ready to help.

We are fully aware that a lot of people although excited about their first driving lesson are also nervous. For some it is the first time behind the wheel of a car and so we like to take things slowly at first. For your first lesson we will often pick you up and drive to a quiet residential area. This is usually a cul-de-sac where there will not be many other road users. We will then swap so that you take the driver’s seat.

The first step is to familiarise yourself with the controls of the car and adjust the seating and mirrors so that you are as comfortable as possible. We then get you to pull away slowly and gradually moving up the lower gears (for manual lessons). As your confidence builds we will run through some basic maneuverers such as braking and turning corners before moving to slightly busier roads so that you can drive alongside other road users.

As your lessons progress your instructor will take guide you through all of the skills and manoeuvres that you will need for your practical driving test so that you are a capable and confident driver. Your instructor will also be able to test you on some elements of your theory driving test and give advice on what educational resources – books, apps and DVDs – are the most useful.

As your skills and knowledge improve, your driving instructor will let you know when they think it is a good time to start thinking about booking your test. There can often be long waiting lists so once you are ready, it is a good idea to book in as soon as possible.
